VOLUNTEER / EMS

BE THE FIRST TO RESPOND. VOLUNTEER AS AN EMT!

Our volunteer squad provides EMS services on weekends and overnight on all weekdays to the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township.* We rely on donations and volunteers to continue providing this service to our community.

*Atlantic Health provides weekday coverage, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Training Support

No prior experience is required! We cover the cost of your EMT training and certification. You will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to serve.

FULL MEMBER (AGE 18+) REQUIREMENTS

Live or work near our service area

Obtain EMT certification within one year of joining

Get CPR certified

Meet our minimum response requirements every year

Fulfill on-call duty requirements

Attend Monday night worknights and training sessions

Attend monthly business meetings

Stay up-to-date with training and certifications

Possess the maturity and emotional resilience to cope with the stress of emergencies

JUNIOR MEMBERS & STUDENTS

Junior membership is capped at six (6) members

Junior members (age 16-17)
must reside in our service area
and apply by May of their junior year

College students who are away during the school year must already be EMT certified

Fire and EMS membership requires a significant time commitment and is not suitable for those seeking temporary volunteer opportunities.

NOTE: Junior membership is capped at a maximum of six (6). We no longer accept applications from high school students after May of their junior year, unless they are already certified EMTs.
